Privacy

What we collect

• Your wallet address, to sign you in and pay you.
• Your X account (user ID, handle and when the account was made), only if you link it, to match you to coins tagged to you and to keep fake accounts out of spotter pools. We only read your public profile and never post for you.
• Photos you post. We read the location saved in a photo to place its pin, then remove all hidden photo data (including location) before storing it.
• Locations. A coin's pin; for things someone owns (pets, homes, people) only a blurred point about half a kilometre off is ever stored. For check-ins we store where you were and how accurate your phone said it was, to check the visit and catch faked locations.
• Activity: coins you make, trades, check-ins, reports, invites and earnings, so balances and leaderboards add up.

What is public

Anything on Solana is public forever: wallet addresses, trades and tokens. A coin's photo, name and description are also published on IPFS. Leaderboards and profiles show wallet addresses or X handles, what people earned and what they made. Check-in locations are never shown publicly.

Services that see some of it

• Anthropic (Claude) sees coin photos to check them before they go live and to suggest names, and check-in photos to compare them with the original.
• Mapbox shows maps and turns pins into place names.
• Pinata hosts coin photos and descriptions on IPFS.
• Convex and DigitalOcean run our database and servers; Helius connects us to Solana; Jupiter provides prices.
• X, when you sign in with it.

On your device

We store your sign-in token and, if you arrived through an invite link, that invite code, in your browser's local storage. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Keeping and deleting

We keep records as long as your account is active and as long as we need them to pay people and keep the books straight. To have a coin removed, or your X link and personal data deleted, message @GotSpottedFun on X. Removing a coin unpins it from IPFS, but copies others made and anything on Solana can't be erased.

Children

Got Spotted is for adults. Coins where a child is the subject aren't allowed and are blocked or removed.
